Cinnamon Chocolate Chip CookiesThe simple Chocolate Chip Cookie really isn’t that simple at all.

It’s a perfectly balanced wonder of chocolate chips, possibly nuts and preferred texture of soft or hard.

There are literally thousands of choices for chocolate chip cookies to choose from. Many claiming the title of being the world’s best or last chocolate chip cookie recipe that you’ll ever need. BUT, the perfect recipe is the one that creates your perfect cookie.

Cinnamon Chocolate Chip CookiesBUT, the only perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe is the one that creates YOUR perfect cookie.

I’m not claiming that my Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is the best. In fact, it’s not my absolutely favorite one. But it is one that I do like ALOT.

This recipe is perfectly chewy, chocolaty, crunchy and very cinnamony tasting. And I guess that I’m not sure if it’s my favorite recipe yet because there’s so many more to try.

Cinnamon Chocolate Chip CookiesAnd while there are loads of chocolate chips in this recipe, you can feel a little less guilty about eating the cookies because they’re made mostly with whole wheat flour. Also, half the butter is switched for olive or coconut oil making it taste so good and be just a little less bad.

So go ahead eat an extra one. Then again, is a chocolate chip cookie ever really bad for you?

Especially a homemade one!

So enjoy life and the cookies. And ignore the little voice in the back of your head that says cookies are bad for you.

I know I am.

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Prepare cookie sheets with parchment paper and set aside until needed.
  2. Whisk together sugar and butter. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla, mixing well.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients together, reserving the chips and nuts. Add the dry mix to the creamed mix gradually, mixing well. Once everything is combined well, stir the chocolate chips and nuts into the mix using a large spoon.
  4. You can roll the dough into 1 1/4″ balls or I used a tablespoon to measure out the dough and dropped it on the prepared cookie sheets, about 2″ apart. The tablespoon gave me the perfect measurement every time and my cookies came out uniform in size.
  5. Bake for about 10 minutes or until you see edges lightly browning. Do not over cook or you will cause the cookie to be brittle and dry out.

    1. Thank you 🙂 Adding half whole wheat is one of my favorite tricks, especially when you use the pastry flour which is a little more finely ground. Even the whole wheat haters can’t tell it’s in there. I even do it with my homemade pasta noodles.

  1. My favorite part of any cookie recipe is the dough. Your picture looked SO good, I wanted to stick a spoon into the computer and have a bite. When I first came to Denver and we made cookies we always said, “the dough is so good we hope we don’t ruin it by baking it”.
